Autumn Skibinski, a 2011 Northland Pines High School graduate, is attempting to make it big in the music industry.
Skibinski has spent the last two and one-half years living in Los Angeles in an effort to progress within the music industry and is now looking for financial assistance to take the next step.
Employed at Azoff Music,
one of the most esteemed management firms in the country, Skibinski, 21, also is attempting to make waves with her band, Only on Tuesdays.
Only on Tuesdays is a singer-songwriter inspired pop/rock band based out of Los Angeles. Skibinski has played many of the famous venues in Los Angeles, including The Roxy, The Viper Room and House of Blues.
In an attempt to raise the funds needed to record a five-song extended-play (EP) musical recording, Only on Tuesdays has begun a crowd-funding campaign via the well-known website, Kickstarter.
“We need to raise a minimum of $5,000 to cover studio time, recording, mixing, mastering, duplicating CDs and all the other things that have to happen before we can get our new songs to your earholes,” said Skibinski.
“This campaign allows individuals to back a project, pledging a certain amount of money and receiving various incentives in return,” she said. “Those incentives include everything from early releases of the album, shirts and signed ukuleles to getting your name in the album thank yous and flights to Los Angeles.”
If people would like to support Skibinski and her band, the campaign will be running until July 12.
“This project is very important to us as a band. We will use this new EP to build our Los Angeles audience, put together a small West Coast tour, submit to local and national festivals, and push for college and indie radio play,” said Skibinski.
